To those in Far North Queensland, good luck and stay safe.
My thoughts and prayers are with you this terrible night.
>You're a good fellow grog – I second your sentiments.
>Yah. I've done cyclones in Mauritius and Fiji but nothing like the scale of this beasty. It's gonna be a difficult time ahead.
>Nth QLD'ers: To say my thoughts are with you seems a minuscule comfort. However, if the wide eyed conversations I've had with many of my fellow countrymen today about your pending plight is any indication: take comfort in knowing that the full force of the nation's best wishes and catastrophe support is and will be with you.Yours in spiritJules
>I really hope it turns out to be much less severe than we think.
>What can we do to support those people up there in Queensland? We can give money by donation or by 'levy' and think constructively about them even if we can't pray. My thoughts are with them all – the elderly, families who are reassuring their kids, singles or anyone else who for whatever reason is alone and afraid. All of them need to know that we care and are here to help in any way that we can.
>We can also tell Abbott to pull his head it. It's going to take Billions to fix the infrastructure while the charity appeals will go to those directly affected.
